Custom Bag OEM Checklist for Brands and Wholesale Buyers
A clear product brief reduces sampling revisions, makes quotations easier to compare and helps a supplier confirm whether the bag can be produced as intended. Use this checklist before requesting a custom bag quotation for cosmetic bags, backpacks, diaper bags, pet carriers or other private-label bag programs.
1. Define the Product and End Use
Start with the bag type, target user and selling environment. Include reference photos, the intended use, preferred carrying method, capacity needs and the target market. A clear use case helps determine the right structure before materials and accessories are selected.
2. Confirm Size, Structure and Materials
- Overall dimensions and target capacity
- Main material, lining, padding and reinforcement needs
- Pocket layout, closures, straps, handles and hardware

3. Prepare Branding Files
Share logo artwork, preferred placement, colour references and any label or packaging requirements. Discuss logo methods early so the sample reflects the intended finished product. Depending on the product, branding may include printing, embroidery, woven labels, patches, badges or custom zipper pulls.
4. Review Sampling Before Bulk Production
Use the sample to check dimensions, material feel, construction, hardware, logo placement and packaging. Record any approved changes in writing before confirming bulk production. This helps prevent differences between the approved sample and the finished order.
5. Request a Comparable Wholesale Quote
Provide estimated quantity, target delivery market, product specifications and packaging needs. Compare quotes on the complete specification rather than price alone. A useful quote should reflect the selected materials, construction details, branding and requested packaging.
